Pierce Cedar Creek Institute | Hastings, MI

Founded in 2001, Pierce Cedar Creek Institute is an expansive nature center, environmental education center, and biological field station south of Hastings, Michigan in rural Barry County. The Institute encompasses 850 acres with nearly 10 miles of hiking trails, a beautiful earth-bermed visitor center, and housing accommodations. With a mission to inspire appreciation and stewardship of their environment, their vision is to be a leading force and vibrant center for environmental education and research.

The Institute is a private operating foundation with approximately 20 employees and an endowment that helps support their operations. With the retirement of the Institute’s current Executive Director after 23 years, they are seeking a community-minded and experienced relationship builder to lead their nature center into its next phase of growth and impact. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for environmental conservation and education, coupled with a commitment to the Institute’s community.
