Maureen Walsh Joins Feyen Zylstra as the Vice President of People and Culture

Feyen Zylstra (FZ), a Grand Rapids-based industrial technology and electrical solutions firm, has selected Maureen Walsh as their new Vice President of People and Culture.

Walsh will be responsible for leading FZ’s People Services team, implementing and advancing strategies to attract, retain, and develop people and culture. She will oversee talent development, performance management, and cultural leadership across all of FZ’s locations.

FZ partnered with HR Collaborative to conduct a nationwide search for this role. Walsh was chosen out of more than 200 highly-qualified candidates.

“Her diverse background and proven track record demonstrate that she understands both the language of HR and the language of business,” says Nate Koetje, Chief Executive Officer at FZ, “Maureen stood out as the right person with the right fit and drive.”

“We recognize the importance of people and culture in achieving our objectives of producing great business results while having a positive impact on the world around us. A strategic leader, focused on the people and culture, plays a key role in achieving these objectives,” explains Koetje.

Walsh has deep roots in the West Michigan community. She comes to FZ from Grand Valley State University, where she was the Chief Human Resources Officer, and she has served in senior-level HR positions at Aquinas College and BISSELL. Walsh brings more than 20 years of Human Resources experience to the role, including large-scale engagement and leadership development programs.

On why she chose the role, Walsh feels, “FZ’s purpose and values align with my leadership perspective and commitment to our community. Creating a positive impact for employees and the community is core to FZ and something I wanted to be a part of.”
